The Daily Yay Experiment for the International Day of Happiness
Today, March 20, is the UN's International Day of Happiness! Have you had your daily yay?
One of my favourite things from sharing my "Lauren Says Yay" speech at the 2023 Speaker Slam Grand Slam, where I became the #2 Inspirational Speaker of the Year, and now sharing the daily yay in my keynotes and talks, has been people telling me it's inspired them to start looking for their daily yays too. A Yay Revolution is born! ๐๐ฝ
Recently, I asked a friend to try a daily yay experiment, where she keeps note of her daily yays for 7-10 days and lets me know how it goes.
I love looking back on my daily yays and re-appreciating little happy, lucky or fun moments I'd forget otherwise, so I figured she'd have a good collection by 7+ days in.
To get her started, I gave her a few of the prompts I use to find mine:
- What was the highlight of your day?
- What are you proud of today?
- What made you smile today?
- What's something kind someone did for you today?
One of my favourite quotes is from Henri Matisse, that "there are always flowers for those who want to see them."
The daily yay is an invitation to WANT to see them. โจ
