Speaking Event Recap: McKesson Canada
This past Wednesday, I did my virtual keynote "Bias, Belief and Belonging: Rewriting Narratives on Disability and Acceptance" for over 130 employees at McKesson Canada and their international Ability ERG members, as part of their recognition for International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Dec 3.
We talked about biases and beliefs other people had about various disabilities and experiences in the group, like a woman with diabetes who said people sometimes comment on what she's eating, instead of trusting that she knows her body, and someone with a dynamic disability saying they feel judged when people question why they can do something one day but not another.
I love getting these conversations going and giving people a chance to reflect on these moments — it can be so validating when people around you, even with different disabilities from yours, feel seen in your experiences! Check out my other feedback linked here.
This session was my last talk of 2025, and by my estimates (thanks Talkadot!), I spoke to over 3,100 people this year across corporations, government agencies and schools. Excited to see what happens in 2026! ๐โจ
