Speaking Event for International Day of Persons with Disabilities: McKesson Canada

Next Wednesday, I'll be speaking virtually to 200 employees at McKesson Canada about disability biases and beliefs, supporting invisible disabilities and fostering an empathetic, inclusive culture — an event in recognition of International Day of Persons with Disabilities!

From my story of hiding my rare muscle disorder as much as I could for 30+ years, to rethinking common invisible disability myths and swapping in more inclusive language/responses, I'm so excited to speak to the Ability ERG members across Canada and the United States — my first international audience!

To me, International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Dec 3) is about representation and listening to the voices of the disability community, to encourage others to share their stories and experiences.

Because every time someone steps up and says who they are, the world becomes a better, more interesting place. ✨
